Purgatory

It was a COLD and windy NIGHT
and DOGS howled for SHELTER
RAIN flooded the GROUND
and SKELETONS softly floated
the STREETS of the dead TOWN.

PLAYING in the PARK
CHILDREN shivered after DARK,
LACING through their BODIES,
WATER soaks their bones.

TEETH chatter softly
and BLOOD is no longer KNOWN.
the WAY they live
is INDESCRIBABLE.

they ETERNALLY play
in their LITTLE village PARK
and WAIT for the DAY
they no longer EXIST!

Flood

The waves crash into your house
Breaking in through the window,
Soaking everything you own.

You kneel on your bed
Holding onto damp sheets
Crying out for dear life,
Hoping that someone will hear you.

The water rises to touch your chandelier
And your legs wade in the freezing water
With your head almost touching the ceiling.

You dive toward the nearest opening;
The back door,
Leading you to your underwater garden.

You've survived with oxygen in your lungs,
A housewreck next to you
And your own personal kelp plantation
Beneath your feet.

This is where your Head begins and Heart stops!

I was lying awake, some million miles away on a dusty Sunday afternoon. They said to me, as I looked at the stars, that I would never come down, I would never come back again. But they were wrong!
They were WRONG! I flew like the wind and landed in the sun, and now I'm always looking down, so they were wrong. They thought they could keep me close to watch, but I fled like the wind and the light and the rain down the drain, the immortal drain of inhumanisation, and i won! I won! They lost, they tried and failed. And now they will be the ones watched while I sit here sunbathing for eternity!
